API Security Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an API Security Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate must have strong hands?on experience with Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateway, including policy configuration, security enforcement, and threat protection, along with a solid understanding of API lifecycle management., * Design and implement API security policies using Broadcom Layer 7 Policy Manager.

• Configure and manage APIs across their full lifecycle, including onboarding, versioning, and decommissioning.
• Develop and maintain policy assertions, routing rules, and gateway configurations.
• Monitor API traffic, logs, and performance, integrating with SIEM and monitoring tools.
• Enforce authentication and authorization standards across enterprise services.
• Perform gateway upgrades, patching, and capacity planning to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with development teams to support API onboarding and Developer Portal usage., The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in API gateway management and API security.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateway (must-have).
• Experience with policy authoring, assertions, and routing configurations.
• Knowledge of API security practices and threat protection mechanisms.
• Experience with authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Strong understanding of enterprise security compliance standards., * Experience deploying API gateways across multiple environments (RHEL/CentOS, VMware, AWS, Docker).
• Familiarity with networking and DMZ architecture.
• Experience integrating with SIEM tools and monitoring platforms.

Rate Range: $59/hour to $61/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors., Pay Details: $59.00 to $61.00 per hour
