Job description

Seeking a Kibana Dashboard Software Engineer to support the Innovations Group on the GSM-O II Program as a member of the End-to-End Visualization Team. Candidates must be within driving distance of Scott AFB. A Secret clearance is required at the start of employment, and Security+ certification must be obtained within 14 days. As a key team member, you will work in a fast-paced Agile environment to architect, design, and develop a unified User Experience / User Interface (UX/UI) that delivers a single-pane-of-glass solution on the Kibana platform. You will collaborate with operational end users and support teams to gather requirements and develop UI mockups and wireframes. Primary Responsibilities: Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and usability Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Kibana Apply UI/UX design principles (visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color, accessibility) Translate analytical results into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences Engage with stakeholders to understand business and operational requirements Maintain and refine data transformation pipelines to ensure data quality and reliability Develop self-service analytics tools and reusable data assets Document data models, business logic, and workflows Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline with 2+ years of related experience 1+ year of experience designing and deploying dashboards using the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) 2+ years of UX/UI design and development experience, including wireframing and architecture diagrams Experience with Python, Java, and SQL; working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript Experience with version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance prior to start Ability to obtain Security+ (or equivalent IAT II certification) within 60 days Ability to commute to Ft. Meade, MD; Hill AFB, UT; or Scott AFB, IL for onsite work Experience working in fast-paced, technical, Agile environments Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD practices Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Elastic Stack for data analysis and visualization Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Grafana) Experience building self-service analytics solutions Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and big data technologies Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices Experience documenting data models and transformation processes Experience in DoD or DISA environments (preferred) Understanding of network devices and configurations Experience with text mining, search, and entity extraction (ELK Stack) Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and containerized pipelines Experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (including AWS GovCloud) Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) Experience working with distributed teams Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience Level Intermediate Level

This is a Contract position based out of Scott Air Force Base, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
