You will play a critical part in building and maintaining scalable, highly available, and secure systems, while championing automation and DevOps best practices. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AWS system administration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and significant hands-on experience with serverless architectures., * Design and Manage Serverless Applications: Design, deploy, and manage scalable, event-driven serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS, and SNS.

  • Automate and Manage Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain our AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or the AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM).
  • Build and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and manage our CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment, testing, and release of both traditional and serverless applications.
  • Operate and Scale Cloud Services: Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS, leveraging both server-based (EC2) and serverless compute.
  • Monitor and Optimize Performance: Proactively monitor system performance, availability, and cost across all services. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and implement cost-saving measures, with a special focus on optimizing Lambda function performance and cost.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security policies, access controls (IAM), and data protection measures for all cloud resources, including serverless functions and their triggers.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Establish and manage robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes for stateful components of our architecture (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB, S3).
  • Support and Troubleshoot: Act as an escalation point for cloud-related issues. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and optimize application performance in the cloud.
  • Containerization: Manage and operate containerized applications using Docker and orchestration services like AWS EKS or ECS where appropriate.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Significant hands-on experience with serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and an understanding of event-driven architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with core AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch).
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS SAM.
  • Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodeDeploy).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Node.js.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS, ECS)., * AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, or AWS Certified Developer - Associate.
  • Experience with serverless monitoring and debugging tools (e.g., AWS X-Ray, Datadog, Lumigo).
  • Experience optimizing serverless applications for performance and cost.
  • Knowledge of databases commonly used in serverless architectures, such as DynamoDB.
  • Experience migrating monolithic applications to microservices or serverless architectures.

Additional Valued Skills: Strong background in Windows Server administration (2012R2 and newer). Experience with patch management tools such as WSUS or SCCM.
