Job description
Oracle Health is seeking a Site Reliability Developer to build automation and software that
powers our database platform and data services. This is a developer-focused Site Reliability
Engineering role that blends software engineering, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud
automation to improve the reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency of Oracle Health's
database and data replication platforms.
Unlike a traditional SRE or DBA position, this role is focused on building software and
automation, not manually administering databases. You'll work across Oracle and SQL Server
database platforms, GoldenGate replication, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and
infrastructure-as-code to eliminate repetitive operational work and improve platform
reliability.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain automation supporting Oracle Health's database platform.

Build infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code solutions using Terraform.

Develop scripts and software that automate database provisioning, upgrades, migrations, replication, validation, and operational workflows.

Improve platform reliability through automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Support Oracle and SQL Server database environments while partnering with database specialists.

Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Contribute to cloud infrastructure initiatives across OCI and other public cloud platforms.

Write maintainable, production-quality code and participate in peer reviews.

Eliminate manual operational processes through software engineering best practices.
Requirements

Strong software development background with production-quality coding experience.

PL/SQL development experience (required).

Experience with at least one modern programming/scripting language (Python, Shell/Bash, Java, C++, or similar).

Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience.

Cloud experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Experience automating operational workflows.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience working with Linux-based systems.

Oracle Database

Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for developers who enjoy writing software that automates infrastructure and operational processes. Ideal backgrounds include Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering.
This is not a traditional Database Administrator (DBA) role. Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on database administration without significant software development and automation experience are unlikely to be successful.
Benefits & conditions
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $91,400 to $187,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
