Job description

We are seeking a System Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of airport checkpoint screening systems. This role focuses on ensuring that integrated systems-including hardware, software, and subsystems-meet defined functional, performance, reliability, and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate will perform hands-on testing in a system test lab or integration environment, execute test procedures, document results, and troubleshoot issues across both Linux and Windows platforms., * Execute system and integration testing for checkpoint screening systems and related components

  • Follow detailed test procedures and accurately document test results and observations
  • Perform functional, performance, and reliability testing across hardware and software systems
  • Set up, configure, and operate test equipment, workstations, and system components
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and isolate system defects and anomalies
  • Log and track defects using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar systems
  • Review system requirements and develop and execute traceable test cases
  • Support formal test events, including customer demonstrations, acceptance testing, and qualification activities
  • Analyze system logs and diagnostics to support issue resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve system design
  • Assist in maintaining test environments and ensuring system readiness, * Operates independently with significant impact on project outcomes and deliverables
  • Responsible for end-to-end testing processes within assigned technical areas
  • May provide guidance and review work of junior technical staff
  • Collaborates with internal teams to influence testing strategies and solution design approaches

  • Hands-on experience with Linux command line and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with test equipment, diagnostic tools, and data collection methods
  • Basic knowledge of systems engineering principles
  • Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems and integrated hardware/software solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to project deliverables with minimal supervision, * Experience with airport checkpoint, security screening, imaging, or detection systems
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP configuration and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience reviewing system requirements and mapping test cases
  • Familiarity with software installation, drivers, services, and system logs
  • Exposure to hardware systems, sensors, imaging technologies, or electromechanical devices
  • Experience supporting customer-facing test events or demonstrations, * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Typically 2-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience
  • Equivalent hands-on experience in system testing environments will be considered

This is a Contract position based out of Tewksbury, MA. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
