AI Engineer

We are partnering with a growing AI organization within a leading insurance company to build out a next-generation AI engineering team. This is an early-stage, high-impact opportunity to work directly with leadership to reimagine the claims lifecycle using AI and Generative AI technologies.

This team is focused on rapid experimentation, iteration, and delivering real-world AI solutions that improve claims triage, investigation, and overall operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

· Design and develop AI-driven applications and services to enhance claims processing and decision-making

· Build and integrate solutions using Generative AI, LLMs, and modern AI frameworks

· Collaborate with product and engineering teams to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate ("fail fast" environment)

· Develop scalable backend services and APIs to support AI workflows

· Contribute to architecture and design decisions for a growing AI platform

· Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business problems into technical AI solutions

· Strong experience in Python development (preferred primary language)

· Hands-on experience building applications (backend or full stack) with exposure to AI/ML or GenAI

· Experience working with APIs, distributed systems, or scalable application architecture

· Proven ability to work in fast-paced, experimental environments with evolving requirements

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience

· Experience with LLMs / Generative AI frameworks

· Familiarity with:

o RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)

o Vector databases

o AI orchestration frameworks / agentic AI

· Experience with JavaScript / Node.js

· Front-end experience with React (for full-stack capability)

· Experience tuning or deploying AI models in production environments

Ideal Candidate Profile

· Background in:

o Application development transitioning into AI

· Strong problem-solver with ability to connect business use cases to technical solutions

· 5+ years of software engineering experience, including work with machine learning (ML) or AI systems.

· Comfortable operating in a building phase environment with ambiguous requirements

· Demonstrates curiosity, adaptability, and a bias toward action and experimentation
