Job description
As a Design Engineer II at Superior Industries, you'll play a key role in the design and development of custom vibratory equipment from concept to manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to get hands-on involvement in design analysis, testing, prototyping, and cross-team collaboration -offering comprehensive engineering involvement in the product life cycle and impact on the aggregate industry.
A Design Engineer II is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Coordinate, design and detail custom vibratory equipment for the aggregate market
- Design and detail custom vibratory equipment
- Perform testing and prototyping of new products
- Assist production teams and field teams in troubleshooting equipment issues
- Perform design analysis for components
- Create detail drawings
- Complete bills of material
- Evaluate and implement design changes
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Do you have experience in Structural analysis?, * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or related education
- Thorough understanding of:
- Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
- Mechanical power relationships such as horse power, torque, speed, ratios
- Shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis
- Strengths of materials and structural analysis
- Motion and dynamics principles such as g-force and natural frequency
- Training and/or experience in using SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor, Au or similar 3D CAD software
- Training and/or experience in FEA simulation and interpretation
- Strong mechanical aptitude
