Job description

  1. Provide in-house technical expertise to users: support and resolve issues related to workstations, servers, printers, network, and other technology.
  2. Provide user support for web applications including, but not limited to Sylogist, Thrillshare, Clever, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and other district-supported platforms.
  3. Advise in strategic planning for the acquisition, use and growth of district services.
  4. Ensure proper installation of equipment.
  5. Assist Director of Technology with management of district logins, email accounts, passwords, permissions, and other account-related systems.
  6. Assist the Director of Technology with cybersecurity-related tasks, including monitoring alerts, reviewing suspicious activity, assisting with phishing response, documenting incidents, and helping improve district security practices.
  7. Assist with account security, including user account review, password reset support, multi-factor authentication support, login troubleshooting, and basic identity/access-related tasks as directed.
  8. Assist with the investigation and documentation of suspicious emails, compromised accounts, malware concerns, unusual login activity, and other cybersecurity-related events.
  9. Assist with basic server, network, backup, virtualization, and system checks as directed by the Director of Technology.
  10. Assist with technology inventory, documentation, asset tracking, labeling, lifecycle management, and standard operating procedures.
  11. Assist Installation and Service Technician and Helpdesk Technician with technology installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and support as needed.
  12. Assist with video security, access control, classroom displays, network cabling, and other technology infrastructure as needed.
  13. Crosstrain with the Helpdesk Technician, Installation and Service Technician, and Director of Technology to provide backup support across the department.
  14. Other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Director of Technology.

Requirements

Knowledge: Bachelor's degree and a high level of knowledge and understanding of information technology are required. Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related fields is desirable. Knowledge or training in networking, systems administration, endpoint management, cybersecurity, or related information technology field preferred.

Skills: Ability to work with others, communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, document work accurately, troubleshoot complex technology issues, and learn district technology systems. Computer-related skills for installation, repair, troubleshooting, cybersecurity awareness, account support, documentation, and end-user support are required.

Machines/Equipment: All computers and related equipment, including desktops, laptops, tablets, student devices, printers, classroom technology, phones, intercoms, video security systems, access control systems, network equipment, servers, cabling, and district-supported software platforms.
