Information Security Engineer 3 - Contingent

In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives within Information Security Engineering. You will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure network infrastructures, focusing on firewall technologies and network security architecture. This role involves working across enterprise environments to ensure systems are secure, optimized, and aligned with organizational policies and compliance standards. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures using Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies
• Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama (templates, device groups, policy hierarchies)
• Perform security policy reviews, rulebase optimization, and firewall hardening
• Lead and support firewall migration projects using industry tools
• Troubleshoot complex network security issues across multi-vendor environments
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams on security integration
• Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, contributing to root cause analysis
• Maintain documentation (network diagrams, configurations, standards)
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
• Stay up to date on emerging threats and continuously improve security posture

• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls (including Panorama)

• Experience with network security engineering and multi-vendor firewall environments (Fortinet, Cisco)

• Experience with security policy design, rulebase optimization, and firewall hardeningPlusses:

• Experience with firewall migration tools (Expedition, FortiConverter, SmartMove)

• Experience in large financial services environments

• Experience with incident response and security monitoring
