Job description

The Systems Engineer Level 1 - M365 is responsible for administering and supporting M365 environments, with a strong focus on Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and cloud-based collaboration tools. The position involves troubleshooting complex technical issues, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize platform performance and drive cloud adoption. In addition, the role requires mentoring support teams and proactively ensuring system readiness and security., Troubleshoot and resolve complex M365 technical issues, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

Monitor production environments to uphold quality, capacity, and readiness for new system implementations.

Verify transition acceptance criteria and production readiness prior to system deployments.

Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects, adapting to evolving business requirements.

Support and manage Exchange Online mail environments, delivering Tier III technical assistance.

Generate Office 365 usage reports and provide actionable recommendations for platform optimization.

Mentor support teams and collaborate with stakeholders to address business needs and recommend solutions.

Requirements

Experience working within a team environment, specifically in Collaboration Services, with a group of 11 members including full-time employees and contractors

Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with all Office 365 tools, including ownership of platform features commonly found in the O365 "waffle."

Proficiency in managing and supporting Email and SharePoint environments, including the development of SharePoint sites

Experience with Proofpoint email security solutions

Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Teams administration

Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration tasks

Strong understanding and practical experience in Cloud M365 environments

Ability to proactively monitor and maintain environments to prevent issues and ensure optimal technology performance

Experience providing Level 3 support, including handling escalations from service desk to end user services

Capability to train and mentor lower-level teams to reduce escalation rates

Excellent soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, essential for collaborating across teams

Proven ability to contribute to raising standards within the team and driving initiatives to transition environments fully to the cloud

Role excludes server management responsibilities

Skills/Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology

Minimum 3 years of experience with M365 Administration and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products

Proficiency with PowerShell preferred
