Telecommunications Engineer Specialist

Leidos Digital Modernization sector is currently looking for a Telecommunications Engineer, Journeyman at Langley AFB, Hampton, VA to support the Mission Partner Environment (MPE) Operations Maintenance and Sustainment (OM&S) program. This role is integral to implementing, and maintaining advanced telecommunications infrastructure that underpins a dynamic, globally distributed intelligence-sharing environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of secure communications systems in support of complex, multinational operations. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.

u2022 Must possess and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.\n \u2022 BA/BS degree & 2+ years experience - additional experience may substitute degree.\n \u2022 Must possess a completed CCNA certification.\n \u2022 Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (one of the following- Sec+,GSEC,SSCP or CCNA SEC) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. n \nPrimary Responsibilities\n \n \nTechnical Primary Role\n \u2022 Support for Coalition Integration Lab's engineering and testing requirements\n \u2022 Support and Deployment for US BICES bi-lat systems and networking Strategy & Planning\n \u2022 Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for\n \n fulfilling business objectives and processes.\n \u2022 Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business\n \n requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.\n \n \nAcquisition & Deployment\n \u2022 Designs and defines network architecture for new or existing computer systems\n \u2022 Performs complex network development and design work.\n \u2022 Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of network enhancements.\n \u2022 Provides input for documentation on new or existing networks.\n \u2022 Develops and conducts tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements.\n \n \nOperational Management\n \u2022 Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems.\n \u2022 Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.\n \u2022 Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for\n \n hardware/software compatibility.\n \u2022 May provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.\n \u2022 Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.\n \u2022 Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques.\n \u2022 Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.\n \u2022 Participates in special projects as assigned.\n \u2022 This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to AFRICOM AOR.**\n
