Job description
The Systems Engineer (SE) is primarily responsible for maintaining and supporting a complex multi-site heterogeneous IT environment. The SE will conduct system analysis and development in collaboration with the rest of the IT operational staff to keep our systems current with changing technologies. The SE must possess a strong knowledge of Windows server administration and a fundamental understanding of enterprise class network and storage infrastructure., Installs, configures, optimizes, and maintains Windows servers.
Installs, configures, optimizes and maintains enterprise class network and storage infrastructure.
Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines in a mixed infrastructure environment.
Provide technical support and expertise for servers that can be either physical or virtual, and remote.
Configures Active Directory, including creating users, security groups, and group policies.
Manages and troubleshoots DNS, FTP, SFTP, HTTP, SSL, and applications such as IIS web sites.
Configures and maintains System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) monitors and alerts.
Maintains Windows Server operational lifecycle using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
Plans, implements, and troubleshoots system security policy, including host and client communications through firewalls, file permissions, and user rights.
Researches, evaluates, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary.
Design, consulting, tuning, security, support for web-based and software-based applications.
All other reasonable duties as assigned.
Requirements
AAS degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus 5 years related work experience as a Systems Engineer in an Enterprise class Windows environment, or a minimum of 7 years work experience as a Systems Engineer and an enterprise level certification (MCSE, CCIE, etc.).
Extensive experience working with various editions of Windows Server 2012 to present releases.
Understanding and comfort in all aspects of Active Directory, including users, security groups, OUs, sites, group policies and group policy inheritance, FMSO roles, and DNS integration.
