Job description

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a junior researcher (Level 1) to supporting Mission Exploitation Business Unit (BU). This position is in Aurora, CO. with the possibility of some hybrid opportunities.

Requirements

MDO is seeking a junior researcher to execute research and development sub-tasking. The ideal candidate possesses some experience in signal processing, coding, image processing and/or computer vision. The junior researcher will be expected to coordinate with the responsible investigator (RI) and/or principal investigator (PI) to develop plans to execute research goals. The researcher should be able to assess relevant technologies, analyze quality, and/or algorithm improvements in the area of signal processing, image content extraction, data fusion and/or data analysis., * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics with 0 years of relative experience. 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance after starting.
  • Understanding of basic algorithms, signal processing concepts, experimental design.
  • Coding skills in C++, Java and/or Python.
  • Interest in signal processing mathematics.
  • Interest in modeling, simulation and quality analysis.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with software architecture and API design.
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, DevOPS.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Benefits & conditions

Primary Level Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $114,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
