We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Quantitative Developer (f/m/d) for our Analytics and Digital Platform team. This position is based in our Munich office.

Risklab is the expert in investment and risk solutions within Allianz Global Investors. More than 60 investment professionals worldwide develop advisory services and solutions tailored to the individual investment goals of our clients. In this exciting role, you will work with a team of experts to design and maintain the quantitative tools powering risklab. Additionally, this position offers not only the opportunity to enhance your quantitative development skills but also allows you to gain experience in cloud-native application development using state-of-the-art technologies.

What you will do

  • Design, build, document and maintain resilient and scalable applications
  • Implement quantitative models for portfolio optimization, allocation, simulations and analytics

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or directly related field with mathematical acumen

  • A genuine passion for applying mathematical techniques in practical scenarios

  • Working knowledge in the fields of:

  • Statistics / Econometrics

  • Financial Mathematics

  • Previous experience in application development with at least one high level language, ideally C# and Python

  • Familiarity with modern agile software development and testing

  • Ambitious demeanor and passion for advancing new topics independently and taking responsibility for their implementation and success

  • Eager to expand expertise in both finance and technology

  • Not afraid to dig deep to understand and solve problems

  • Empathetic teammate, flexible, pro-active, self-reliant, and forward thinking

  • Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in an upbeat, fast-paced, business-critical environment

  • Proficiency in English

Preferred

  • Experience in implementing platforms for investment and risk strategies or equivalent
  • Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems
  • Good understanding of the processes behind API life cycle management, web APIs
  • Good knowledge of modern technologies like Docker, Redis, Databricks or Azure SQL
  • Proficiency in German
