Principal Software Engineer (React / Golang) - Peer Community

This role owns technical leadership for the Peer Community product within Digital Product Technology (DPT), partnering with three Scrum teams to deliver web and backend platforms and to drive discovery and the architectural runway.

What you will do:

• Lead system architecture, run technical reviews, and own cross-team integration and interfaces across three Scrum teams.

• Participate and lead discovery, prototyping, and the architectural runway to ensure delivery readiness and technical alignment.

• Design and evolve client-side architecture for web and mobile while ensuring consistency across platforms.

• Design and build effective, observable, and scalable backend services in Go.

• Define and drive non-functional requirements: scalability, availability, security, observability, and performance.

• Coach and mentor senior engineers; influence hiring, on-call practices, and engineering standards.

• Work closely with Product and Design to translate customer problems into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.

• Improve engineering processes and tooling to reduce cycle time and increase reliability., * We rely on clear documentation and asynchronous communication to coordinate across our multi-regional teams.

• We test heavily to rapidly deliver changes with minimal risk.

• We operate with a clear leadership structure and career framework while empowering teams with autonomy, strong mentorship, and cross-team collaboration.

• We work with a focus on continuous, iterative delivery.

• Delivery of cross-team initiatives and architectural runway items

• Reduced time-to-merge and improved release stability

• Adoption and performance of new platform features

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required .

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.

• Demonstrated experience leading architecture and delivery across multiple teams.

• Strong proficiency with at least two of: React , Next.js, Go.

• Hands-on experience with observability, incident response, and performance tuning.

• Proven track record delivering systems with strong UX, maintainability, and operational quality.

• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have / opportunity to learn

• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/ CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/ Scalr ).

• Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering patterns.

• Prior experience in distributed systems, high-traffic services, or data-intensive platforms.

• Experience with data science platforms, Applications must be submitted in English.

• A valid EU visa/passport is required for this position.
