Job description

Working under the direction of the Test Assurance Manager, the Test Assurance Analyst reviews testing documentation, evaluates quality risks, validates evidence, and highlights gaps or weaknesses across internal teams and suppliers. The role supports the implementation of Xoserve's Test Assurance framework and contributes to improving the maturity, consistency, and transparency of testing across the organisation., * Support the embedding of Test Assurance standards, governance controls, and best practices across all change and BAU initiatives.

  • Participate in quality gates, assurance checkpoints, and release readiness assessments.
  • Validate that testing activities follow risk based testing principles and align with organisational quality controls.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Test Assurance frameworks, processes, and metrics.
  • Review testing documentation from internal teams and suppliers to confirm completeness, coverage, and compliance with Test Assurance standards.
  • Analyse test evidence, requirements, and associated risks to assess testability and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, defects, or quality issues in testing approaches or outputs, escalating where appropriate.
  • Maintain clear traceability of assurance findings to requirements, risks, and defect insights.
  • Assist in the oversight of supplier led testing activity, validating adherence to agreed testing approaches, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Review supplier outputs and raise queries or challenges where evidence is insufficient, unclear, or inconsistent with expectations.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to promote transparency and alignment.
  • Communicate assurance findings clearly, objectively, and constructively for a range of audiences.

Requirements

  • ISTQB Foundation certification or above.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to testing activities across the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including test design, planning, execution, and defect management.
  • Ability to review test cases, evidence, and defect information to identify gaps, risks, or quality issues.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience producing structured documentation such as assurance notes, evidence reviews, or quality assessments.
  • Comfortable working within governance, quality assurance, or audit like frameworks.
  • Ability to identify and drive improvements, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks., * Experience working in complex delivery environments with multiple teams and suppliers.
  • Exposure to quality assurance functions, test governance, or assurance frameworks.
  • Experience in the gas, energy, utilities, or other regulated industries.
  • Awareness of large scale data platforms, industry systems, or data driven solutions.
