Job description

As a Network Field Engineer you will be a key part of the multi-disciplinary Engineering Services team covering Fortune 10 companies. Working alongside our experienced field engineering team, you will get exposure to technology deployment and maintenance internationally. This exciting role will allow you to develop your technical skills and well as a variety of soft skills. If you love travelling around the world and are ready for the challenge of performing large-scale network deployments, then this is the role for you. This position will require the ability to travel globally up to 100%.

Role Overview

  • Work on a variety of projects for our customers; across data centre, retail and enterprise space.
  • Be attentive and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Further your knowledge on core network technologies; including routing and switching, WIFI, firewalls, compute, storage, power and cabling.
  • Be prepared to travel to customer sites regularly.
  • Always maintain a high level of courtesy and professionalism with customers.
  • You will be provided with a company laptop, corporate card for travel expenses and training.

Requirements

· Outstanding communication and organisational skills required

· Self-disciplined, self-starter, professional who can successfully complete required scope to an industry leading standard.

  • Candidate must be fluent in English. Other language skills considered a plus.
  • Candidate must have a valid passport.
  • UK driving license highly desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer facing skills.
  • Strong practical skills.
  • Excellent ability to interpret impact of network changes.
  • Hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting infrastructure components including structured cabling, routers and switches, wireless access points, IP-phones etc
  • Experience with wireless networking technologies and protocols
  • Experience using cabling troubleshooting and packet analysis tools such as a tracer/toner, continuity tester, fluke certifier and WireShark.
  • Experience with wireless networking technologies and protocols. Experience with Ekahau would be beneficial.
