The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in-service support, and disposal of the UKs nuclear submarines. Our work is of unparalleled strategic importance nationally and internationally, ensuring the security of the UKs continuous at-sea nuclear deterrent (CASD), and delivering some of the most technically complex programmes in defence. At least one of four nuclear-armed submarines, supported by smaller attack submarines, is on patrol at all times: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This position is advertised at37hours per week., The AUKUS (AUS, UK, US) leadership announcement in March 2023 established that Ship Submersible Nuclear-AUKUS (SSNA) will be based upon the United Kingdoms next-generation Ship Submersible Nuclear (SSN) design while incorporating cutting-edge US submarine technologies, including the AN/BYG-1 combat system and Mk48 heavyweight torpedo.
Under the SDA Combat Systems Delivery Team (CSDT), the Common Combat System (Future) (CCS(F)) Programme has been stood up and is tasked to deliver the SSNA Combat Systems Common Computing Environment (CCE) and Weapon Interfacing Equipment (WIE).
CSDT are seeking to employ a skilled and experienced Knowledge and Information Manager to lead on the delivery of the Programmes Knowledge and Information Management Strategy and provide management on complex information exchange.
The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop the Knowledge and Information Management Strategy for the CCS-F Programme
- Manage activities to ensure information is being captured, stored, distributed, used, processed, retained and eventually disposed to meet the requirements of the law, MOD Policy and guidance and the requirements of the business.
- Act as the focal point for release of documentation between the AUKUS nations and relevant industry partners in line with relevant legislation and regulation (ITAR, Export Controls). Tracking all information exchanges and Government Furnished (Assets/Equipment/Facilities/Information/Services) (GFX) requests.
- Identify and mitigate information risks within the programme.
- Supporting other functions within SDA and CSDT teams.
- Review processes, technical capability and customer experience within current AUKUS arrangements, identifying improvements and feeding into AUKUS information exchange requirements.
- Brief stakeholders and non-technical colleagues on Knowledge and Information Management.
- Develop IM tools within area and actively seek new technology which can make information flow easier.
- Manage access to Programmes MS Teams, Share Point, Email and PanBlue (AUKUS tool) and monitor compliance with IM standards raising any concerns to Programme Lead.
