Job description
TekFive is seeking a Network Engineer at Armstrong Flight Research Center to support the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) network environment. This role will be responsible for designing, engineering, configuring, testing, documenting, and maintaining complex network architectures in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol environment. The ideal candidate will support daily operations, troubleshoot customer issues, and provide technical expertise during high-visibility and mission-critical activities.
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, configure, test, and document HOSC network architectures in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol environment.
- Implement network changes, including router and switch configurations, based on customer requirements.
- Provide daily operational support and troubleshoot customer-reported network issues.
- Support HOSC Operations during high-visibility events and critical mission activities.
- Monitor network systems health and status using available monitoring tools and technical processes.
- Analyze network performance and assist with identifying and resolving connectivity, configuration, and operational issues.
- Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and operations personnel to ensure mission requirements are met.
- Maintain technical documentation related to network configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic working knowledge of routed data protocols and networking hardware platforms.
- General understanding of network architectures, routing, switching, and network operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and operational tasks while meeting customer requirements and deadlines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience supporting Check Point firewalls.
- Experience supporting government, aerospace, or mission-critical operational environments.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Clearance Requirement
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
