Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver, specializing in over-the-road (OTR) freight refrigerator transportation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate tractor-trailers across long distances, delivering essential goods efficiently and safely. As a CDL A driver, you will be the backbone of our logistics network, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. If you thrive on adventure, enjoy navigating diverse routes, and take pride in your driving skills, this position is perfect for you!, * Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with manual transmissions across extensive routes, including interstate highways and regional roads.
- Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and hazardous materials while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient fuel usage.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts when necessary, ensuring securement of freight according to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any incidents encountered on the road.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight handling.
- Knowledge of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently and adapt to changing route conditions.
- Skilled in manual handling techniques for loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance requirements.
- Experience with specialized trucks such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus but not required.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and excellent driving skills that prioritize cargo security and road safety.
