Requirements
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required. Must possess or be eligible to obtain an active federal Secret security clearance (Nyla will sponsor eligible candidates). Data Architecture: Strong professional experience with data engineering, database engineering, data integration, or data architecture. Data Modeling: Proven ability to design and model data structures, including defining entities, relationships, data flows, schemas, and processing structures. Pipeline Development: Experience developing reliable data pipelines and integrating data from multiple large-scale sources. Query Optimization: Advanced proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries to support high-performance data retrieval. Database Technologies: Familiarity with relational, NoSQL, graph, or distributed database technologies, along with an understanding of database security, access controls, and compliance requirements. Stakeholder Engagement & Agile Execution: Strong communication skills with experience gathering requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-moving Agile environment. Education & Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. Experience Requirements: Demonstrated professional experience working in database engineering, data pipeline development, or data architecture roles. Substitution: An equivalent combination of advanced technical certifications, specialized military training, or additional years of hands-on data engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. , Desired Skills
Advanced Databases: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DGraph, or similar relational, NoSQL, or graph databases. Streaming & APIs: Familiarity with Apache Kafka (or similar data-streaming tools) and Hasura (or similar API and data-access platforms). Ontology Frameworks: Experience with semantic knowledge graphs, linked data, ontology development, RDF/XML, OWL, or the Protégé OWL ontology editor. Modern Version Control: Routine experience managing collaborative code repositories using GitHub and Git workflows. Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization or graph visualization tools. Defense & Clearance Standards: Experience supporting defense, intelligence, operational, or other complex mission environments.
Benefits & conditions
The annual base salary range for this role is $101,000 - $189,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered within this pipeline may vary based upon chosen tier (Mid vs. Senior), work experience, education, and/or specific technical skill level., WHAT ABOUT OTHER BENEFITS?
