Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and improve our business technology environment. This role will have a strong emphasis on network engineering and Cisco Meraki equipment, but it is not limited to networking.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing day-to-day IT engineering operations across network infrastructure, cloud services, endpoint systems, identity platforms, security tools, and core business applications. When network-focused projects or escalations are complete, this person will support broader infrastructure operations and help keep the company's technology environment reliable, secure, and well-documented.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can troubleshoot complex issues, own infrastructure improvements, support business growth, and work across multiple areas of IT., * Manage and support core business infrastructure, including networking, cloud platforms, identity systems, endpoint management, servers, security tools, and business-critical applications.
- Administer and maintain Cisco Meraki infrastructure, including MX firewalls, MS switches, MR wireless access points, VLANs, VPNs, SSIDs, firewall rules, traffic shaping, and network security policies.
- Support day-to-day IT engineering operations, including system monitoring, incident response, infrastructure maintenance, access management, upgrades, and service improvements.
- Troubleshoot issues across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, Microsoft 365, Windows systems, cloud services, and endpoint platforms.
- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure for office buildouts, expansions, hardware refreshes, and business technology projects.
- Manage network and infrastructure documentation, including topology diagrams, IP address plans, VLAN assignments, system inventories, configuration standards, and support procedures.
- Support Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD, Intune, Windows Server, endpoint management, security policies, and related infrastructure services.
- Assist with user, device, and application access controls, including identity management, conditional access, MFA, and group-based permissions.
- Partner with help desk, security, and other business teams to resolve escalated technical issues and improve the end-user experience.
- Monitor infrastructure health, performance, licensing, warranties, alerts, and lifecycle replacement needs.
- Participate in infrastructure planning, vendor coordination, change management, and post-deployment support.
- Recommend improvements to system reliability, security, automation, documentation, and operational efficiency., * Business infrastructure is stable, secure, documented, and easy to support.
- Network projects are completed successfully, but the role remains engaged in broader IT operations.
- Escalated technical issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly.
- Meraki networking, Microsoft 365, identity, endpoints, and core systems are maintained proactively.
- Infrastructure standards, diagrams, inventories, and procedures stay current.
- The IT team has better visibility into risks, system health, and upcoming lifecycle needs.
- Business users experience reliable access to the systems, applications, and network resources they need.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, network administration, or a similar technical role.
- Hands-on experience supporting business IT infrastructure in a professional environment.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki equipment and the Meraki Dashboard.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, NAT, VPNs, wireless networking, and firewall policies.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Windows systems, endpoint management, identity platforms, or cloud-based business infrastructure.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across multiple IT areas, not just networking.
- Experience documenting infrastructure systems, support procedures, configurations, and change records.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow change-control processes, and work independently.
- Ability to facilitate off-hours work, on-call duties, and travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Meraki, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft, Azure, Intune, or security-related certifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Azure, Windows Server, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, or related Microsoft 365 services.
- Experience with network monitoring, endpoint management, vulnerability management, backup tools, or security platforms.
- Familiarity with zero-trust security, conditional access, SASE, SD-WAN, and cloud-managed infrastructure.
- Experience supporting office buildouts, network refreshes, firewall migrations, or multi-site environments.
- Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Python, APIs, or similar tools.
