Join Siemens Healthineers' Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) team in Princeton, NJ, a central hub for advancing Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies in healthcare.
As a Senior AI Scientist, you will work on real-world medical imaging challenges, developing and applying advanced AI/ML methods to improve diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, and personalized medicine.
This role bridges research and product development, with a focus on translating novel algorithms into impactful clinical solutions.
You are responsible for:
- Conducting research and developing AI/ML algorithms to solve complex problems in medical imaging
- Applying modern machine learning techniques, including deep learning and generative models, to imaging and inverse problems
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, clinical partners) to define requirements and deliver solutions
- Prototyping and validating new approaches through feasibility studies and rapid experimentation
- Contributing to publications, patents, and internal innovation initiatives
- Translating research into practice by supporting integration of algorithms into product workflows
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- Strong foundation in machine learning / artificial intelligence
- Experience applying ML to real-world problems (e.g., imaging, signal processing, computer vision, or similar domains)
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex technical challenges
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and research outcomes, * Experience in medical imaging, computational imaging, or image processing
- Familiarity with generative AI techniques (e.g., diffusion models, foundation models, or related approaches)
- Experience with inverse problems, reconstruction, or physics-based modeling
- Track record of publications or patents in relevant fields
- Experience working in collaborative research or product development environments
- Exposure to C++ or performance-oriented implementations

$134,300 - $184,657
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
