Job description

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will as a part of a small, multi-functional team, you'll help design, build, and commission Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for our lunar permanence program. You will design data acquisition systems and/or control systems specifically focused for testing space vehicle sub-assemblies. You will contribute to the team's progress by assisting in collecting customer specifications, creating electrical design packages, managing build activities through part procurement and vendor management, and supporting installation and activation of systems., * Participate in the requirements, design, architecture, procurement, build, integration, and checkout of the power test systems

  • Support a development environment with open box testing and card to card level testing.
  • Create and release drawings of the test hardware infrastructure, rack layouts, harnesses, breakout boxes/panels, power distribution, and grounding.
  • Identify and procure equipment, and coordinate with technicians for the build, assembly, and installation of equipment and harnesses.
  • Support the integration of flight avionics, hardware, operator consoles, and test equipment to verify the requirements and performance of avionics units under test.
  • Support checkout of the avionics systems and solving technical problems.
  • Maintain configuration control of the drawings and the test system configuration.

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related technical degree
  • 2+ years industry experience with avionics systems testing
  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting electronics testing
  • Ability to produce electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, data acquisition cards, etc), * 2+ years of hands-on experience in software and/or hardware development, integration, systems engineering, testing experience, and supporting avionics or similarly broad integration
  • Experience with human-rated space vehicle development and verification
  • Ability to quickly analyze issues with low voltage instrumentation and control systems, 4-20 mA signals, thermocouples, resolvers, etc.
  • Experience operating within a production configuration management environment
  • Experience with Zuken, Creo, Windchill, and JAMA
