Server/Cloud Maintenance: Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud instances. Handle backups, restores, and disaster recovery User & License Management: Provision licenses and manage users, groups, and site roles using Active Directory (AD) or Single Sign-On (SSO) integration. Security & Governance: Assign granular project, workbook, and data source permissions. Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy policies. Performance Tuning: Monitor server health (CPU, memory, backgrounder tasks) using tools like Tableau Server Manager (TSM) or Custom Admin Views. Optimize extract refreshes and workload balancing. Content Management: Oversee site structures, publish workbooks, configure data connections, and manage subscriptions or alerts. Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with database connectivity (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake). Experience with TSM commands, Python scripting, or REST APIs for automation is highly valued. Architecture Knowledge: Solid understanding of Tableau architecture, including site, project, and workbook-level security models. Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to translate complex business needs into technical specifications and infrastructure requirements.
