Job description
Performs the full range of professional duties required to design, develop, modify, and enhance computer applications for a specific organizational or divisionwide clientele; trains end-users., 1. Displays knowledge of and/or has responsibility for all facets of all applications specific to an organization or divisionwide.
- Participates in all phases of planning, organizing, and researching a team approach to problem-solving for the functional applications support team (FASTeam) mission.
- Performs the more complex technical tasks.
- Conducts functional application design and development to meet the needs of end-users.
- May make or authorize enhancements and modifications to functional applications.
- Ensures functionality of hardware and software related to organizational applications.
- Prepares system documentation in non-technical terms for users.
- Prepares and updates rules and regulations with respect to functional applications.
- Maintains user accounts and security.
- Designs and develops reports; manages data.
- Develops functional requirements, performs acceptance testing.
- Acts as school system liaison for new systems or programs developed internally or by commercial vendors to ensure that users' unique requirements are met.
- Designs and produces reports and queries.
- Provides both formal and ad hoc training to end-users.
- Maintains a hotline and troubleshoots and resolves difficulties encountered by users.
- Interfaces with multiple internal and external groups and agencies.
- Provides consultative services to users and management.
- May act as lead for the FASTeam.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems with courses in a field related to the assigned organization or clientele.
- Four (4) years of experience in information technology support.
- Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
- Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods of applicable computer technology and its effective and efficient utilization in support of the functions of the assigned organization or clientele.
- Effective human resource and organizational skills.
- Analytical ability.
- Ability to design reports and manage data.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
- Ability to create SQL queries
- Working knowledge of special education state reporting
