Job description
The Institutional Data Analyst is an entry-level professional responsible for supporting university reporting, analytics, and data-informed decision-making. This role focuses on extracting, managing, and analyzing institutional data from internal and external sources to support reporting, dashboards, and strategic initiatives.
The analyst collaborates with campus stakeholders to gather requirements, develop reports and data visualizations, and contribute to analytical projects related to key institutional priorities such as enrollment and student success. Additionally, the role supports data governance efforts by promoting data quality, consistency, and best practices. This position is ideal for individuals with foundational experience in data analysis, statistics, or related fields who are seeking to build expertise in higher education analytics.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
- Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or research methods through coursework, internships, or projects
- Experience with one or more tools such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, or SPSS
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
- Interest in higher education data, institutional analytics, or public sector work
