What You'll Do (and What You'll Achieve)

In your first 6-12 months, you will:

Strengthen our IT Asset Management program by leading initiatives that improve visibility, accuracy, and lifecycle governance across hardware and software assets

Transform data into actionable insights by analyzing asset and CMDB relationships to uncover inefficiencies, reduce risk, and identify cost-saving opportunities

Elevate ServiceNow capabilities by optimizing HAM Pro/Enterprise functionality and improving discovery, reconciliation, and reporting processes

Drive process improvements that simplify workflows, increase automation, and enhance the experience for internal stakeholders

Partner across IT, clinical, and business teams to align technology with real-world needs and improve outcomes

Contribute to strategic direction by influencing roadmap decisions and advancing a mature, forward-thinking ITAM practice, Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support parts of our hiring process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates. Requirements

Minimum 2 years of direct Hardware or IT Asset Management experience

Proficiency in ITIL and ITAM frameworks, including CMDB relationships, data models, and discovery/reconciliation processes

Associate Degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field

Equivalent Experience:

In lieu of a degree: 4 years of direct IT Asset Management experience plus a High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management or 7+ years of broader ITAM experience

Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow ITAM, especially HAM Pro or Enterprise

Deep understanding of ITIL/ITAM frameworks, CMDB structure, and lifecycle management best practices

Proven ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into actionable business improvements

Nice to Have

Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) and integration into a mature ITAM program

Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CSAM, CHAMP, CITAM)

Experience in healthcare or regulated environments

Passion for continuous improvement and building scalable, sustainable processes

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • The person we need should be able to move beyond daily administration and focus on process and data governance

  • This is not a help desk or technical support role, so that should not be their primary experience

  • They should exhibit a positive personality that is comfortable navigating both customers and leadership to champion business cheerleaders and gather business requirements

  • Our focus is on practical and recent asset management experience in current ServiceNow platform, primarily HAM Pro. Specifically,

o Speak common ServiceNow terminology

o Understand the difference between business services and business applications and Asset Management's role in these

o Be able align experience to the role and communicate how they would help Cook Children's mature Asset Management in ServiceNow

o Have a clear understanding of when to track an item as a CI, an Asset or both in ServiceNow

o Understand hardware lifecycle management

o Understand how to leverage ServiceNow's Agent Mobile app for inventory and audit (other barcode experience could be a transferrable skill)

o Experience with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework in relation to asset management

o Have the decision-making skills to plan collaborations necessary and next steps, when faced with conflicting or incomplete data

o Understand dependencies between HAM, SAM and other ServiceNow modules

o Embody a proactive and cooperative team spirit

o Great communication skills

  • It would be a plus if they understood how to build and manage contracts and software assets in SAM Pro when purchasing is not connected to ServiceNow
