Job description
The purpose of this is to inspect manufactured products to ensure compliance and conformance to Quality standards.
Monday-Friday occasional weekends as needed 9 a.m. -5 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures

Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately, * Conducts product quality audits per shift per machine; quality audits are performed in accordance to procedures
- Assists with developing sampling plans for re-inspection
- Departmental instructions may exist in which case expectations will be described in further detail
- Works with manufacturing to improve efficiency of inspection duties
- Completes the following audit actions in all areas of the plant:
- Changeover & setup approvals
- First piece/last piece approvals
- Process control checks
- GMP/Food Safety audits (lead internal auditor)

- Completes Sample Request processing as directed
- Interprets standards and specification from a Quality standpoint
- Set-up and complete Certificates of Analysis as required
- Perform gauge calibration and tracks calibration history
- Performs quality testing using laboratory measuring equipment
- Enters data accurately in Excel or SPC software
- Capable of performing basic statistical data analysis
- Maintains quality reports, including re-inspection/rework results
- Coordinate and manage heldware and rework process
- Participate as a Quality subject matter expert in start-up and qualification processes
- Participates in defining/refining Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan
- Has teamwork ability to lead a functional team in inspection techniques or improvements
- Works with little or no supervision for day to day duties and quality decisions
- Has ability to determine disposition of material by weighing risk against defect levels to protect both customer and business needs

Has the ability to work on CAPA and can assist in root cause analysis

Is backup for the SQF Practitioner
Mentor and train new employees

In absence of the Quality Technician-Lead, the roles and responsibilities of this position will be fulfilled as designated, documented, and approved by the Plant Manager
Requirements
year experience with SQF (certification preferred)
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Successful completion of HACCP and SQF Practitioner course, is desirable
