Job description

The Lead Security Solution Architect provides leadership, direction and guidance for a team of Security Solution Architects and Security Officers who work alongside technical project teams across the group to deliver secure systems. You will ensure security is embedded within the architecture design lifecycle, adopting our Secure by Design principles, and manage the day to day quality standard and workload of your team.

You will

  • Provide leadership and direction across the solution lifecycle, ensuring Secure By Design principles are embedded in architecture, design, and delivery

  • Define and assure security requirements and controls across multiple products or projects, aligned to enterprise standards and risk appetite

  • Act as design authority for security solution architecture, ensuring alignment with target architecture, policies, and governance

  • Work with stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to shape secure, viable, and value-driven solution options

  • Manage, guide and support a team of Security Solution Architects and Security Officers, providing coaching, clarity, and quality assurance across architecture outputs

Requirements

Proven experience of leading security solution architecture across complex environments, with a focus on embedding security into design and delivery

  • Strong understanding of security architecture, risk management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO/IEC 62443, NCSC CAF Enhanced for DGE, Cyber Essentials)

  • Experience operating as a design authority or leading architectural governance within delivery programmes

  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to guide, influence, and build alignment across teams

  • A pragmatic, outcome-focused approach, balancing security, risk, cost, and delivery considerations
