Job description
Provide support to the Director, by leading and assisting with a range of risk and operational projects and transformation initiatives, to create efficiencies and improvements in the Channel Islands business and wider Group.
The role will support the development and maintenance of the Group Risk Framework, working closely with Risk teams, as well as engaging with stakeholders across the wider business.
You will assist in the management of a variety of functions, including Operations, Facilities and Onboarding which have a significant impact on the Group as a whole.
You will work closely with the Director to drive initiatives and projects to standardise processes, improve efficiencies and offer support to the client facing teams.
You will oversee any projects undertaken in the Operations team in respect of group and/or local transformation and consider ways of obtaining efficiencies through automated processing or Centres of Excellence.
This role would suit a candidate with a varied skillset who has commercial awareness and a clear understanding of the implications of any decision making across the Group.
Job Accountabilities
Operations & Business Support
Drive efficiencies across the Business, assessing best practice and implementing changes to enhance processes.
Own and control key data and consider the alignment, and standardisation, of key data between Guernsey & Jersey and the wider group.
Consider development needed to Acumen, our core database, to include how we hold data, how we report and analyse our data and how we meet our reporting obligations in accordance with JFSC & GFSC requirements.
Consider areas within the business that can become Centres of Excellence and/or areas of support that can be provided to the wider business.
Managing & Mitigating Risk
Liaise and co-ordinate with third party providers, for example Internal Audit and Risk Consultants.
Work closely with the Risk Associate Director to develop appropriate controls to mitigate risk, including supporting the business in developing and implementing system controls.
Manage Operational Risk for the Channel Islands, identifying risks with key data and how to manage and mitigate this risk appropriately.
Responsibility for collating reporting from across the Channel Islands businesses in accordance with key risk indicators.
Perform analysis of risk reporting to identify any trends/issues.
Overseeing the action taken in response to issues identified to ensure appropriate root cause analysis and remediation of issues.
Manage any work that is outsourced on behalf of Operations and Business Support.
Member of the Policies & Procedures Committees (Channel Islands).
Oversight of errors and breaches and the impact of those on the business.
Assist with Regulatory visits.
Ownership of the Dynamic Risk Assessment policy & procedure in conjunction with the Risk Associate Director.

Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant role.
Successful attainment of relevant professional qualification.
Required Skills
This role would suit a candidate with a variety of skills to include excellent Trust and Company experience.
Strong communication skills and be adept at building relationships across the business.
Understanding of the broad spectrum of risks facing the sector; including but not limited to data security, people related, regulatory risk, etc.
Sound understanding of industry best practices in relation to operations and risk management.
Experience in working in the Private Wealth / Corporate Services sector on a cross jurisdictional basis.
Demonstrated ability to write technical reports.
Ability to manage projects with minimum supervision.
Excellent IT skills, including good Excel knowledge.
Good presentation skills.
Sound judgement.
Ability to coach and mentor junior colleagues.
