Job description
The Consents Configuration Manager will play a central role in the SMR project driving integration across environmental permissions activities and between environmental permissions and all aspects of the design process. The Consents Configuration Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing a team that is aligned with the environmental permissions workstreams (i.e. Environmental Baseline and EIA, Land Use Planning and Environmental Permitting) and is also aligned with the SMR project design resources (i.e. SMR Technology Provider, Civil Engineering and Associated Development Design, Construction Delivery Design). The Consents Configuration team led by the Consents Configuration Manager will ensure that there is one source of the truth' across the environmental permissions programme and that there is effective iterative project development between environmental permissions and design activities. This includes supporting masterplanning and optioneering activities,ensuring that the relevant members of the environmental permissions team provide expert input into the developing project design.
In addition to the above, the Consents Configuration team will also play a leading role in co-ordinating the document delivery of the major permission applications, providing oversight and leadership in document production and ensuring that documentation produced is effectively configured to the design. This includes ensuring the accuracy of plans and project descriptions submitted as part of the permissions applications., * Leading configuration of all information relevant to environmental permissions activities in liaison with the relevant design teams.
- Ensure the major permissions team is working from the latest approved reports, design data and drawings. An important part of this will be interface with the GIS team.
- Act as the key interface between the major permissions and engineering teams to ensure requirements are accurately captured and reflected in design updates.
- Support design change co-ordination, engaging with relevant counterparts in the engineering design teams to assess and communicate impacts on permissions applications.
- Facilitate regular design reviews and ensure alignment across disciplines.
- Play an active part in stakeholder engagement both internal and external, including engagement with regulatory agencies and during public consultation activities.
- Providing a leadership role in the delivery of environmental permission application documentation
Requirements
- Detailed knowledge of the design of nuclear power stations and the environmental regulatory requirements associated with their construction and operation.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and a high level of proficiency with the use of common digital applications including SharePoint, Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel and Powerpoint. GIS skills an advantage.
- Proven experience in working in infrastructure delivery at a senior level, including during early project design activities.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, including internal and external resources, to drive integration, teamwork and problem solving.
- Experienced and comfortable with change, with the ability to work with an organisation that is undergoing significant transformation and can demonstrate a proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
- Attention to detail and quality assurance., * Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, such as engineering or science.
- Chartered status with the relevant professional institution is desirable but not essential subject to proven relevant experience.
- Project management certification (such as PRINCE2 or APM PMQ) would be advantageous.
