Job description
to support a large-scale data center migration program, relocating physical and virtual servers between facilities with minimal downtime and strong service continuity.
Core focus
Plan and execute end-to-end server migrations.
Migrate VMware ESXi hosts and virtual machines using vMotion, Storage vMotion, and cold migration methods.
Manage iSCSI storage connectivity, LVM-based storage provisioning, and filesystem validation.
Build automation and runbooks to make migration workflows repeatable and reliable.
Troubleshoot performance, application, and infrastructure issues before, during, and after cutover.
Key responsibilities
Own and engineer the Linux compute platform across migration phases.
Coordinate migration waves, rollback plans, and validation checklists.
Maintain security, stability, and compliance across Linux infrastructure.
Work with support teams and internal engineering groups to resolve complex issues.
Contribute to modernization efforts involving Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related platform technologies.
Requirements
8+ years of overall experience with 4+ years of hands-on Linux/Unix engineering experience.
4+years of experience with large-scale server or data center migrations.
3+ years of experience in Deep VMware ESXi/vSphere.
4+ years of experience in iSCSI networking and LVM expertise.
Good skills in Bash and Python.
Good understanding of networking, CI/CD, and container platforms like OpenShift/Kubernetes.
Nice to have
Experience with migration tools such as Zerto, Veeam, or vCenter Converter.
Exposure to public cloud, databases, security tooling, and configuration management platforms like Ansible or Puppet.
