Job description

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented Senior S oftware E ngineer experienced in C# .NET application development to help us design, implement, and maintain our internal and customer-facing applications for customer support. In collaboration with designers, product managers, and other software engineers , y ou will contribute to the Blizzard Support web site and our proprietary customer support software that Game Masters use to deliver an epic support experience .

The software you write will integrate with services from game development and platform teams at Blizzard so that our players and Game Masters can resolve any issue they encounter .Our team loves Blizzard games, and we care deeply about ensuring everyone canfullyenjoy our games; if you do too,thenthis is the team for you!

This role is open to remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative solutions to deliver an epic support experience to Blizzard customers and Game Masters (customer support representatives)

  • Provide technical leadership across Service Technologies with respect to backend systems development

  • Collaborate and communicate with business analysts, designers, producers, and partner team members throughout the development process

  • Document and share best practices with engineers across Blizzard

  • Diagnose and resolve live operations issues, occasionally during non-traditional work hours

  • Crosstrain peers and m entor junior engineers across Service Technologies

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of C# , Microsoft .NET Framework , and .NET ASP.NET Core

  • Good working knowledge service-oriented application design patterns

  • Experience designing systems and APIs with high uptime requirements

  • Working knowledge of software quality best practices such as unit and integration testing

  • Surface knowledge of Docker containerization and CI/CD Tools

  • Analytical and Troubleshooting skills

  • Passion for software development and learning

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science , Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience

  • 3 or more years delivering C# .NET Applications in a professional environment

Plusses

  • Knowledge of Blizzard Games and Services

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Linux

  • Experience hardening applications and enforcing security best-practices

  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular

  • Experience with observability, analytics, and reporting solutions

  • Experience collaborating in large multi-disciplinary teams

  • Contributions to Open Source and personal projects

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $102,800.00 - $190,204.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
