Job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Linux/RedHat Systems Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure in Tampa, Florida. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented candidate with deep expertise in Red Hat environments, enterprise storage, virtualization, and secure network access technologies. The role will focus on maintaining reliable systems, improving platform performance, and contributing to modern infrastructure practices across a mid-sized or larger organization.
Responsibilities:

Administer and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments to ensure stability, security, and consistent operational performance.

Manage enterprise storage platforms, with strong preference for experience supporting NetApp solutions in complex business environments.

Support and maintain VMware-based infrastructure, including work within vSphere 8 or newer releases.

Contribute to containerization and DevOps initiatives by helping streamline deployment processes and improve system scalability.

Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and resolve performance, availability, and capacity concerns.

Implement and support secure access technologies, including Zscaler and NSX, within the broader enterprise architecture.

Monitor system health, apply patches and upgrades, and maintain technical standards across Linux and related infrastructure platforms.
Requirements

Document configurations, operational procedures, and environment changes to support long-term maintainability and compliance. Requirements * 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure administration within mid-sized or larger organizations.

Strong hands-on expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and related Linux administration in production environments.

Proven background managing enterprise storage platforms, preferably with NetApp technologies.

Experience supporting VMware environments, including version 8 or higher.

Familiarity with containerization concepts and DevOps-oriented infrastructure practices.

Working knowledge of Zscaler and NSX in enterprise network and security environments.
