Job description
Software Architect - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the Dearborn office. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from Dearborn, MI. Define the software architecture for ADAS features and develop high-level designs. Develop requirements for the software architecture and cascade to the software and model developers. Guide the product teams to define, assemble and integrate components (examples: hardware, software, requirements for availability, scalability, and reliability). Work with Ford architecture and validation teams, tool vendors and AUTOSAR basic software partners to design, develop, and deploy application software components, Ford specific complex device drivers, basic software components, software requirements, supporting documentation, and integration guides for ADAS ECU. Work with tool vendors to validate Ford CDDs and BSW components across multiple vendor AUTOSAR stacks. Review and approve the implementation of the basic software and complex device drivers. Support the implementation of the feature functionality. Support the work of the software project manager to define and deliver work products per the planned timelines. Support overall software and model integration and peer reviews of models and software. Perform code level integration related tasks such as replicating build environments, source code debugging and continuously improving and streamlining deployments. Support resolution of architecture related issues. Support the SW verification and validation teams to establish test strategies to achieve suitable coverage along the right side of the System V. Teach others within Ford about Classic AUTOSAR and its capabilities.
Requirements
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Developing embedded software in C/C++. 2. Designing, developing, deploying and validating AUTOSAR Classic application software components. 3. Matlab Simulink/Stateflow. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. CAN and SOME/IP Protocols. 2. CAN (Classical and CAN FD) protocol, including frame structure, arbitration, and error handling. 3. DBC files for signal-level communication and interfacing across ECUs. 4. SOME/IP and SOME/IP-SD (Service Discovery) as defined by AUTOSAR. 5. Designing specification of service-oriented communication interfaces for ADAS functions using SOME/IP and managing ARXML interface definitions for SOME/IP services and events. 1 year of experience with the following skill is required: 1.
