Job description
We're partnering with our client, a dynamic company in the financial services industry, to find a skilled Java Developer. This position is based in New York City and offers a hybrid work schedule-on-site Tuesday through Thursday. The role is a temporary assignment with the potential to become a full-time role.
Java Developer Responsibilities:
- Create, test, and maintain scalable Java applications to meet business needs.
- Write clear, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas.
- Automate deployment and monitor systems through shell scripting.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and product managers.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of professional experience in Java programming (Java 8 or newer).
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, preferably with Oracle databases.
- Strong shell scripting skills using Bash, KornShell, or similar.
- In-depth understanding of object-oriented programming and hardware design principles.
- Experience using version control systems like GitHub, and working within Linux/Unix environments.
