Requirements
- Linux Administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)

- Hybrid cloud infrastructure (on-prem + cloud)
- Cloud migrations (VMware HCX or similar)
- Automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting)
- Enterprise virtualization and compute platforms, Seeking a hands-on Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise compute platforms across on-premises data centers and Google Cloud Platform for a retail home security organization. This engineer will focus on GCP infrastructure, Linux platforms, VMware virtualization, cloud migrations, automation, and hybrid infrastructure operations. What Recruiters Should Look For
- 5-8+ years of Infrastructure, Cloud, or Platform Engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially Compute Engine (GCE)
- Linux systems administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)
- VMware administration (vSphere/vCenter); HCX migration experience is a plus
- Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (preferred) or similar tools
- Automation experience using Ansible, scripting, or similar technologies
- Experience leading infrastructure migrations and server provisioning
- Strong understanding of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization
- Experience with production support, platform stability, and root cause analysis (RCA)
Nice-to-Have
- IBM Power Systems (PowerVM)
- AIX administration
- Multi-cloud experience (AWS/Azure)
- DevOps, CI/CD, and automation-first engineering practices
