Job description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The Information Technology Specialist works closely with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and other District government stakeholders in conducting work that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software. Duties include, but are not limited to: analyzing and refining system requirements and translating requirements into applications; participating on project teams to establish business requirements for agency systems and providing technical solutions; planning and coordinating the installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of business applications; planning and designing systems architecture, user interfaces and applications architecture; and developing and evaluating test data to validate program modifications. Requirements

Five (5) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities related to expertise in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of application software; production support of enterprise applications; translating business requirements into technical solutions; and the ability to interact with various stakeholders; knowledge of at-least one or more programming languages but not limited to .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and Entity Framework. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; and experience with the Microsoft Power Platform suite, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. Specialized Experience Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
