Job description

ANNAX, a Wabtec Cooperation, provides passenger information systems for long- and short distance trains, trams, and subways. ANNAX develops turnkey solutions including features like public and automatic announcements, travel information, infotainment, passenger emergency calls, video surveillance, operator and conductor control interfaces, seat reservation, passenger counting and fleet management. ANNAX has sites in Germany, Switzerland, and China and our passenger information systems can be found all over the world.

To build up a new development team in Piossasco, Italy and to strengthen our portfolio of tram projects we search an experienced Software Developer Engineer.

Tasks

  • design module and framework extensions with OO methods
  • define tasks and work packages
  • develop, test and document your code
  • maintain and enhance build systems
  • configure and integrate ANNAX software and Linux services
  • analyze issues and fix bugs
  • apply cyber security rules
  • live clean code principles
  • evaluate and elaborate new technologies

Requirements

  • C++ (at least 3 years experience)
  • Linux, embedded Linux
  • Python, Bash
  • documentation with doxygen, sphinx and plantuml
  • administration of code with git, gitlab
  • Unit Testing
  • IP networks, protocols
  • SQL databases
  • building using gcc, make, cmake (conan, yocto is considered an asset)
  • Knowledge in DevOps methodologies and toolings (gitlab CI/CD, terraform, ansible) and containerization technologies is a plus
  • experience in embedded hardware is considered an asset

Profile

  • bachelor or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or similar
  • experience in rail industry is considered an asset
  • fluent in English (orally and written)
  • motivated, independent personality
  • excited about distributed systems and having fun with them
  • ready to travel occasionally within Europe and Internationally
