The Sr. Release Engineer & Administration Manager (Salesforce) is responsible for owning the end-to-end Salesforce release lifecycle and core platform administration. This role serves as a technical expert and execution leader, ensuring reliable deployments, platform stability, and strong governance across a complex Salesforce ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- DevOps & Release Management
- Manage DevOps across multiple Salesforce orgs including:
o Pipelines, environments, and promotion paths
o User stories, commits, and deployment artifacts
o Automated validations, test level enforcement, and rollback strategies

Define and enforce branching and deployment strategies aligned with DevOps best practices.

Manage release cycles, including planned releases, hotfixes, emergency fixes, and freeze windows.

Ensure all deployments meet quality gates (test coverage, static code analysis, approvals.

Troubleshoot Copado deployment failures, conflicts, and metadata issues.

Partner with Copado support and Salesforce teams for upgrades, enhancements, and best practices.

Act as a senior technical advisor to Product, Development, QA, and Business teams on release feasibility and platform constraints.

Participate in design and planning discussions to influence solutions that align with release strategy and platform best practices.
- Salesforce Administration & Configuration Governance
- Lead Salesforce administrative operations, including:
o User provisioning, roles, profiles, permission sets
o Security controls, MFA, login IP relaxations
o Audit logging, monitoring, and compliance support

Perform advanced Salesforce administration across applicable clouds (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Industry Clouds).

Design and maintain scalable configurations including objects, fields, automation, validation rules, flows, and security controls.

Coordinate Salesforce seasonal releases and mandatory platform updates.

Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, and data protection requirements.

Own operational runbooks and incident response for Salesforce production issues.

Support audits and internal controls by ensuring changes align with governance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Environment Strategy & Platform Stability

Own Salesforce environment strategy (Dev, SIT, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod).

Govern sandbox creation, refresh schedules, and data seeding strategies.

Manage forward and backward promotions using Copado while keeping multi orgs in sync.

Oversee production deployment users, access provisioning, and segregation of duties.

Ensure platform changes are deployed with minimal disruption and clear communication to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement & DevOps Optimization

Identify opportunities to improve release efficiency, automation, and reliability.

Evaluate and recommend Salesforce DevOps tools, processes, and best practices.

Establish and track operational metrics such as deployment success, defect escapes, and rollback

frequency.

Stay current on Salesforce seasonal releases, DevOps advancements, and platform changes.
Requirements

Minimum 8 years progressive IT experience with 5+ years' experience with the Salesforce platform and supporting enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations with multiple stakeholders.

Experience with Copado DevOps tool in an enterprise environment.

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.

Salesforce + Copado certification is a plus

Proven experience managing Salesforce releases using Copado DevOps tool across multiple teams and orgs.

Strong knowledge of:
o Salesforce metadata and deployment dependencies
o Copado pipelines, user stories, and quality gates
o CI/CD concepts and release governance

Strong ability to analyze system requirements and design effective data solutions.

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex release issues.

Exceptional attention to detail and quality.

Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.

Work Environment

The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
