Job description

The Clinical Systems & EHR Support Specialist manages the day-to-day operational integrity, user accessibility, and hardware stability of the facility's Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment. Serving as the primary technical point of contact for clinical staff, this non-nursing informatics professional balances system configuration, cybersecurity permissions, end-user help desk resolution, and hardware maintenance to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality patient care workflows., * System Integrity & Connectivity: Monitor and maintain EHR system performance, troubleshoot software bugs, and ensure clinician's knowledge between clinical modules. Assist clinicians to utilize backup systems and tracks and analyzes ongoing error faults/defaults/bugs of software. Opens electronic tickets and investigates in order to help provide EHR company additional information for troubleshooting.

  • Staff Security & Access Management: Provision, modify, and audit user access credentials and security profiles within the EHR system to guarantee strict adherence to organizational data governance standards.
  • Help Desk Support & Issue Resolution: Answer incoming support calls and tickets from clinicians, operational, and administrative staff; provide rapid triage and technical remediation for software or workflow blockages. Provide 1st/2nd level support via phone, email, or remote tools to troubleshoot EHR application.
  • EHR Education & Training: Develop comprehensive training curricula, deliver remote or classroom-based software onboarding, and educate healthcare staff on data entry best practices, compliance rules, and newly released system features.
  • Report Monitoring: Review system performance reports, system error logs, and data quality metrics daily to proactively address infrastructure vulnerabilities or training deficiencies before they impact patient care. Monitor EHR work queues ensuring clinical data flow.
  • Device Maintenance Coordination: Partner closely with fields staff and IT field technicians to ensure the functionality, physical upkeep, and routine updating of clinical hardware devices, including Workstations on Wheels (WOWs), bedside tablets, and barcode scanners. Ensures clinicians are able to utilize electronic medical record for the purposes of compliance with state and federal regulations regrading clinician documentation and electronic visit verification.
  • System Interoperability and Automation: Ensure seamless data exchange between different platforms and assist in automating routine administrative tasks to ensure appropriate billing and cash flow. Participate in testing, Go-Lives, and upgrades to ensure minimal disruption to clinical operations.
  • Other duties: Performs other duties as needed and as regulatory changes occur and process are changed to meet the demand.

  • 2+ years of direct technical experience supporting or configuring EHR applications (e.g., Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH) inside a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in account provisioning methodologies, active directory management, basic network troubleshooting, and database monitoring tools.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience with Healthwyse/Casamba/Careficient EMR
