By bridging warehouse operations and technical support, this position helps ensure seamless customer service, efficient operations, and overall organizational success., The Utility Player - Warehouse & Technical Support is a cross-functional role designed to provide operational flexibility by supporting both warehouse operations and the technical support team based on business needs and priorities. This individual will assist with shipping, receiving, production, inventory, and warehouse organization while also supporting technical projects, product configuration, customer inquiries, testing, and field support activities. Success in this role requires adaptability, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn multiple aspects of the business.
Major Areas of Accountability
Warehouse Operations
Receiving
- Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming shipments.
- Notify management of receiving discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Assist with unloading containers and organizing incoming inventory.
Production & Assembly
- Assemble, package, label, and rework products according to production work orders.
- Complete production documentation accurately and timely.
- Support inventory replenishment and staging of production materials.
Shipping
- Pick, pack, scan, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Process shipments using company shipping software and customer requirements.
- Coordinate freight shipments with carriers to meet delivery schedules.
- Prepare shipping documentation and maintain accurate shipment records.
- Assist with trade show shipments and shipping quotations as needed.
Warehouse Maintenance
- Assist with inventory accuracy through cycle counts and organization.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
- Recommend improvements to warehouse processes, organization, and efficiency.
Technical Support
Project & Product Support
- Help organize and maintain project documentation using internal tracking systems.
- Program, configure, and test products under established procedures.
- Support pre-commissioning and product validation activities.
Field & Product Support
- Assist with field service, startup, and commissioning activities as assigned.
- Support product testing, RGA evaluations, and troubleshooting.
- Document technical findings and communicate recommendations to internal teams.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring product or process issues and communicate findings.
- Support engineering and quality initiatives through testing and documentation.
- Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing product training.
Cross-Functional Responsibilities
- Transition between warehouse and technical responsibilities based on workload and business priorities.
- Support special projects across departments as assigned.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in company systems.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.
- Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude while supporting multiple departments.
- Continuously develop knowledge of products, systems, and operational processes.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, technical support, manufacturing, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical education is a plus.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude with a willingness to learn electrical controls and automation products.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and accurate data entry.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize changing workloads and work independently.
- Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist wherever needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts (training provided).
- Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with flexibility as business needs require.
