Job description

As a Software Test Engineer, you will be part of an Agile development team supporting the design, development, and testing of software systems for signals intelligence, radar, and communications prototype development for our Navy customer. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks, containerized applications, and CI/CD pipelines. You will help ensure software quality through automated test development, execution, and reporting, while collaborating with developers and system engineers to validate functionality and performance. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented engineer passionate about software quality and automation. You will work with scripting languages (Python, Bash), test frameworks, and DevSecOps tools to deliver reliable and secure solutions., * Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for functional, integration, and regression testing.

  • Collaborate with developers and QA team members to identify test requirements and ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments, including containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and deployment.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and document findings in a clear and structured format.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to improving testing processes and practices.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java).
  • Basic understanding of software testing principles and methodologies. Exposure to automated testing tools or frameworks (e.g., PyTest, JUnit, Selenium).
  • Knowledge of containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile team environment.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen, and have the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance.

Desired:

  • Experience with Linux-based systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS).
  • Experience in networking and data distribution protocols as well as frameworks and monitoring tools (Vita49.2, TCP, UDP, Sockets, ActiveMQ, Data Distribution Service (DDS), Wireshark)
  • Exposure to DevSecOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Interest in RF systems or DSP concepts is a plus.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$66,700 - $133,300
