Job description
- Manage Linux servers by performing installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning activities that sustain stable and secure enterprise platforms for business workloads.
- Monitor Linux system health using standard tools and logs, identify potential capacity or reliability risks, and implement corrective actions that prevent service disruption for internal stakeholders.
- Administer NetApp storage systems by creating and managing volumes, aggregates, and snapshots that ensure efficient data utilization and resilient protection for business-critical information assets.
- Implement NetApp storage policies for backup, retention, and recovery activities that align with organizational continuity objectives and protect vital data across production and non-production environments.
- Configure Cisco SAN switches by setting zoning, aliases, and fabric parameters that provide secure, high-performance, and predictable connectivity between hosts and shared storage resources.
- Maintain SAN fabric stability by monitoring port health, bandwidth utilization, and error trends while executing remedial actions that prevent bottlenecks and downtime for connected systems.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to assess storage and compute requirements and translate those needs into practical Linux, NetApp, and SAN configurations that support project goals.
- Execute change management activities for operating system, storage, and network components in accordance with company standards so planned work is documented, tested, and implemented with minimal business impact.
- Troubleshoot complex incidents across Linux servers, NetApp arrays, and Cisco SAN fabrics by performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes that reduce recurrence of issues.
- Develop and maintain operational runbooks, configuration records, and standard procedures that streamline daily administration tasks and support consistent service delivery for hybrid work arrangements.
- Optimize resource utilization across storage pools and server fleets by tuning parameters, reclaiming unused capacity, and aligning service levels with actual workload demands.
- Coordinate with security and compliance teams to apply configuration baselines, encryption options, and auditing features that protect sensitive data and meet regulatory expectations.
- Evaluate new features in Linux distributions, NetApp firmware, and Cisco SAN software releases and recommend adoption plans that enhance reliability, performance, and maintainability for enterprise platforms.
- Provide guidance to peers and junior team members on troubleshooting methods and best practices in Linux, storage, and SAN operations so overall team capability continues to improve.
