Job description

We are in search of an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. As an Engineering Professional, your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the creation of design solutions that address complex engineering problems across the full software cycle.

  • Developing operational scenarios, system requirements and architectures based on the customer's goals and contractual requirements.

  • Incrementally developing the product design and delivery optimization requirements. Act as a core member of a multi-disciplinary team that represents all capabilities, directly supporting software development and integration activities for the program.

  • Developing functional, architectural, and detailed designs. Incrementally develops design to provide added or updated functionality based on operational scenarios and customer requirements.

  • Managing key aspects of the technical implementation of the program, by collaborating across disciplines to ensure that technical parameters, interfaces, and assumptions are consistent, and interfacing with stakeholders (engineering, technical staff, client) to ensure program goals are met.

  • Orchestrating cross-functional collaboration to ensure best practices and domain knowledge are shared.

  • Performing obsolescence analysis for current/future hardware solutions.

  • Supporting and providing guidance on operations and maintenance, including definition and communication of complete test, integration, and checkout plans for new capabilities.

  • Working cross-functionally to analyze, test and iterate technical requirements, user stories and operations concepts. Provide technical direction and clarification of requirements within the team.

Requirements

You thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment and are committed to delivering best-in-class products and solutions. You have an innovative mindset, and capable of finding solutions to complex engineering challenges. You have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 5 years of professional experience, a Masters degree with over 3 years of experience, or equivalent experience/combined education. You currently hold a Top Secret clearance., * Bachelors degree from an accredited college with 5 years of professional experience, 3 years of professional experience with a Masters degree or equivalent experience/combined education.

  • Security Clearance required Prior to Start: Top Secret
  • Experience developing system, hardware, and performance requirements
  • Experience performing software and/or systems integration and testing
  • Experience in test plan/procedure preparation and test execution
  • Experience with the ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment

Desired skills

  • Experience developing system interfaces and architectures
  • Experience working within a System Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with PTC Creo, EPDM, Cameo Systems Modeler, JIRA, DOORS
  • Experience with 3D Modeling software (PTC Creo, CATIA, Solidworks, etc)
  • Agile Experience (Product Owner, Scrum Master)
  • Experience working with vendors
  • Experience working with internal and external customers
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability/willingness to travel to vendors or test events, Ability to work remotely

Benefits & conditions

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Security Clearance Information This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Work Schedule 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Select the Telework classification for this position Employee will work on-site full-time
