Job description
We currently have a vacancy for an UI/UX Designer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company's premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client's IT team on site., * Conduct user research and requirements workshops with internal stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and priorities across the event lifecycle;
- Translate business requirements and user needs into wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma or equivalent;
- Define and maintain a coherent design system built on PrimeNG components, ensuring visual and interaction consistency across all EMP-facing applications;
- Collaborate closely with Angular developers to ensure faithful, accessible implementation of designs;
- Produce and iterate on prototypes for user testing and stakeholder validation, including participation in governance reviews;
- Ensure all designs comply with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards - a hard requirement for applications used across EU Member States and institutions;
- Work within established GSC visual identity and branding guidelines while introducing modern, usability-focused patterns where appropriate;
- Contribute to design documentation: component specifications, interaction guidelines, and handover assets;
- Participate in Agile@PM² ceremonies, collaborating with the delivery team on sprint planning and backlog refinement.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in IT;
- Minimum years of professional UX/UI design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work from research through to delivered product;
- Strong proficiency in Figma (or equivalent); experience designing for component-based frontend frameworks;
- Solid understanding of accessibility principles (WCAG 2.1 AA minimum) and how they translate into practical design decisions;
- Experience designing data-dense enterprise or back-office applications, forms, tables, dashboards, multi-step workflows;
- Ability to work directly with frontend developers and communicate design intent clearly through specifications and in-person collaboration;
- Comfortable facilitating workshops and presenting design decisions to mixed technical and non-technical audiences;
- Prior experience working within an EU institution or comparable international public-sector organisation is an asset;
- Familiarity with PrimeNG, Angular Material, or similar enterprise component libraries is an asset;
- Knowledge of GDPR implications for interface design, particularly around data visibility and consent is an asset;
- Experience designing multilingual interfaces is an asset;
- Excellent command of the English language.
