Job description
This is a fully onsite role, supporting a school in North London. You'll work directly with staff and students, acting as a trusted IT presence and taking ownership of day-to-day support.
You'll need to be confident working across different environments, able to adapt quickly, and comfortable being the go-to person on site.
This role suits someone who enjoys being visible, proactive, and relied upon, rather than purely remote or ticket-based support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide hands-on desktop support (1st line) within school environments
- Deliver face-to-face support to staff and students
- Work across multiple school sites, adapting to different setups and users
- Act as a trusted on-site IT contact
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents quickly and effectively
- Work with the helpdesk team to manage and close tickets
- Escalate issues and liaise with third-party suppliers where required
- Carry out basic audits and recommend improvements to IT systems
- Support wider IT projects and team initiatives

Requirements
- Experience providing IT support within an education setting (school or college)
- Minimum 2* years' experience in a desktop / IT support role*
- Strong experience with:
- Windows desktop environments
- Microsoft 365
- Basic server environments
- Comfortable working face-to-face with users in busy environments
- Able to work independently and take ownership of issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Skills
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 / Azure administration
- Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- PowerShell (basic scripting)
- Backup solutions
- Virtualisation (Hyper-V / VMware)
- Networking (VPNs, VLANs, switches, firewalls)
- Experience with MSP tools (e.g. Kaseya, Datto)
- Good documentation and organisation skills
