Job description
The IT Asset Analyst I receives and manages inventory and ensures security of assets while in inventory. Maintains hardware/software information, updates and assists in developing enterprise-wide IT purchasing standards and procedures. Receives cell phones and new computer hardware/software requests and monitors procurement and deployment activities. Monitors and reconciles changes in inventory and performs spot checks to ensure process and system quality. The Asset Analyst is required to work as a team member as part of the technical support team to complete service requests. Required to have customer interface skills, knowledge in a specific technology area to troubleshoot and complete customer requests in a timely manner. Follows good safety practices as per city policy.
Responsibilities

Perform work activities requiring instructing and communicating with others

Maintain daily shipping/receiving functionalities of all deliveries (both IT Leasing and Purchasing), documentation, and record keeping and follow all organizational safety and procurement policies and procedures

Interact with inventory management system to maintain accurate product location information and maintain inventory integrity

Report any discrepancies to inventory personnel

Update IT inventory management system with all new and retired leased computers

Perform asset tagging and scanning of leased equipment as they are received

Enter leased device into the IT inventory management system

Scan all leased spreadsheets and enters them into document management system

Verify all outgoing computers and devices have reached their end of lease, so they can be returned to the vendor

Run pick month reports of expiring leased equipment and email lists to our leasing vendor for reconciliation and for scheduling of equipment pickup

Prepare leased equipment for certified drive wiping with third party vendor

Must be flexible to perform other duties as assigned to ensure reliable and working operations

Must be dependable and diligent in investing their time and energy to complete each task assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED, * A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
Preferred
- CompTIA A+ Certification (Preferred) - May substitute IAITAM (CHAMP, CSAM, CITAD, and CAMP)
