Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support the lifecycle sustainment and modernization of mission-critical education, learning, and training applications supporting a Government enterprise. This role is ideal for an experienced systems administrator with expertise in Windows and Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, and enterprise operations.
As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will administer hybrid environments, implement automation solutions, perform system maintenance, and ensure the security, reliability, and availability of enterprise systems supporting national security missions., * Administer and maintain enterprise Windows Server and Linux environments across hybrid infrastructures.
- Perform IAVA patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance reporting for enterprise systems.
- Execute operating system patching, upgrades, maintenance, and software deployments for Windows and Linux servers.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, operating system, and application issues while maintaining system availability.
- Implement and manage Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to support enterprise security and configuration standards.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative and operational tasks.
- Support AWS cloud environments utilizing services such as EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, and cloud-native scripting.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Ansible for provisioning, configuration management, and automation.
- Build and maintain automation tools and system scripts that improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
- Perform software installation, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle support for enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with software developers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and infrastructure teams to support mission-critical systems.
- Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, and system administration best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance enterprise security, automation, and system performance.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of Systems Administration experience supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and technical requirements. Five additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
- Extensive experience administering Windows Server environments, including hardening, patching, upgrades, and disk management.
- Experience administering Linux server environments, including patching, software maintenance, and operational support.
- Experience performing IAVA patching and compliance reporting.
- Experience maintaining and upgrading enterprise software applications.
- Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-hosted enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work during required core business hours.
- DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I certification is required.
